Currently featured at Big Dog Studio are trompe l’oeil murals that are in progress by John Pugh. John's most recent endeavor, a mural that is set to reside in Downtown Ashland, is Where the Crow Lights. At its center, the mural depicts the origins of Ashland when Ashland was a Shasta Village named, Where the Crow Lights, and then places it within the context of a theatre set that is surrounded by nature. The mural appeals to those who value the layers of culture and history that permeate through Ashland, while sharing a story about humanity, nature, and a search for harmony. During First Friday Art Walk, at 6:00 p.m., John will provide a presentation for those who are interested in learning more about this mural.
