JEGA, A Woman With Attitude J. Ellen Austin
In Memoriam, J. Ellen Austin, resident sculptor of her JEGA Gallery and Sculpture Garden, in Ashland, Oregon, passed on to trip the light fantastic, November 3, 2015, with her loving family by her side.
J. Ellen, known for being a stone and multi-media sculptor, was a founding member of the Ashland Gallery Association. Her artwork, often satirical and provocative, entices the viewer to think! She motivated and inspired people from all walks of life, in her worldly travels, and the JEGA Gallery’s First Friday Art walk events and annual art shows including, “Women With Attitude and Men Who Love Women With Attitude!’ and Jefferson State Sculpture Exhibits, she was known admired and loved.
J. Ellen would ask you, ‘What do you do to make this a better world?’ Open a New Window, Open a New Door!

Artist, stone sculptor, JEGA gallery owner, visionary, entrepreneur,
pioneer, activist, role model, rebel, debutante, feminist, learned and
athletic, traveler, wife, mother of four, grandmother of two –
dedicated to learning, growing, giving and laughing.

J. Ellen’s final installment, “Passing Thru”, Translucent Italian Alabaster, can be visited at Scenic Hills Cemetery, Ashland, Oregon.
