COMPLEX: David Chambers

Photographer David Chambers spent two months in Chile this summer, where he collaborated with University of Arizona researcher Sophia Borgias on a project about the Maipo River basin in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. This collection of photography explores some of the stories that emerged in the Maipo, as well as observations from his time in Santiago, Valparaiso, and San Pedro de Atacama. The hope is that these photos offer a glimpse of the complex beauty of the landscapes and people of Chile, a country living with the tensions left by a history of dictatorship, rapid economic growth, and mounting social pressures for change.
