Michele’s birthplace is Virginia with origins in the rice fields of Cajun SW Louisiana. Her inspiration stems from the vast flatness and the alluvia planes of the Mississippi Delta, as well as, the enveloping intimacy of the the Pacific North West forests.  Her paintings are both abstract and object landscapes, that capture and record the internal or external context of experience.  Michele’s encaustic work is intuitive and sense-memory based, instead of using photographic references.   She holds a BFA in textile design from the School of Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University, and an MA in curriculum design, University of Mississippi.  This series of work, is based on memories of the South, and titles are quotes from William Faulkner’s novel which references…Macbeth’s Tomorrow upon Lady Macbeth’s death…
