“Rest for the Soul” – Featuring Art by Debby Fisher at Ashland Pony Espresso, April 6th, 2018

Artists and art appreciators, join us at the Ashland Pony Espresso/Washington Federal Bank for First Friday Art Walk, April 6th, from 5pm-8pm, for an art show featuring the beautiful work of Debby Fisher! Debby’s art conveys a warmth and restfulness that invites the viewer to enter the world in her images, a world where the chaos of life pauses and we find we can breathe again. Grab a cup of coffee or a meal, meet the artist, and enjoy a fun and relaxing evening of looking at art and talking with other creatives.

About this month’s featured artist:

Debby Fisher is an artist creating paintings out of a desire to communicate good things – images that uplift the viewer, that encourage, that connect. She studied art education at Indiana University of Pennsylvania for a short time and drawing at Virginia Commonwealth University. In the late 90s, she had the opportunity to study commercial illustration with internationally known artist and illustrator, Semyon Bilmes.  After a time in the illustration business, she was drawn toward oil painting through the work of artists such as Michael Dudash and Chris Hopkins, who she connected with through the Masterpiece Christian Artist Conferences.

From the artist: “When you feel called to be an artist, as I do, no matter what’s going on in your life you keep pressing on. Sometimes much slower than you’d like, but you are driven with that desire to convey something of the beauty that God surrounds us with every day. I am thankful for this calling and just have a desire to be faithful and keep moving forward!”
