We will continue, of course, to maintain cleanliness protocols at our shop including having alcohol and hand sanitizer always on hand, wiping down all surfaces, design table, front door inside and out etc. We also have and use masks and gloves.

We are continuing to feature our regularly exhibited gallery artists that include owner, Thomas M. Houston, Yugi Hiratsuka, Stephen McMillan and others.

My video is a clip from me working on a collaborative piece with Ashland artist, Margie Mee. The working title of the piece is “Flatten the Curve”.

Margie and I are trading this piece, which is a game board, back and forth…I work on it and then she works on it…

This period of Covid lockdown is, in my opinion, a great time for artists in all mediums to collaborate.

Here is a detail photo of the piece.

And in other news…

Houston’s Custom Framing and Fine Art has created  their own line of unique, artisan crafted,  closed corner picture frames called Spark Frames. We debuted our line to the trade at our national trade conference, West Coast Art and Framing Expo in Las Vegas in January. Our line was very well received with excitement! We now have several accounts across the country that are representing our frames in their shops.

Our website is now live and of course you can see them all in person in our shop.

Creating a wholesale line to sell to other frame shops is something we’ve considered in the past but got to work and put it into action last fall. Creating and selling wholesale to other frame shops is a pretty unique thing to do and there are not many shops doing this.
