Featured Artist Keith Jordan
I started painting graffiti at the age of 15. Painting pieces of art in large, in-your-face spaces for the public to see was my biggest addiction for years. My art translated onto canvas slowly at first, but soon took over in an attempt to stay out of trouble. I use the techniques learned through graffiti to paint pictures of things that inspire beauty in my life. These things are trees, flowers, houses, people, animals, and scenery. I do not try to limit my subject matter, but rather encompass as many different kinds of subjects as I can. The techniques used allow me to paint these subjects in a more camouflaged, wild-style manner that is not often seen outside of graffiti. I try to maintain a balance of grit and beauty in my art, the very same thing that inspired me to start painting on buildings and under bridges.
