Ashland Art Works on Oak Street, is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 cooperative of artists, art galleries and studios.  AAW encourages the creative productivity of its artists with the intention of contributing new works for the gallery and of sharing with the community.

In October, member artists will be “Celebrating Artist Co-ops at AAW.” Each member artist will choose their “favorite” piece of art for this show. Seventeen artists will participate in our gallery collective show…lots of art to share!

AAW provides numerous opportunities for locals and visiting groups to learn about and experience art.  AAW also offers tours and educational opportunities in the form of workshops, such as mask making, pottery, stamping, and sketchbook making, all expanding creative possibilities.

AAW artists have offered art experiences in elementary, high school and university classrooms plus art lectures at the gallery.

MARILYN REEVES

Died August 21, 2015

Marilyn is an award-winning sculptor, who moved to Southern Oregon from Columbus, Ohio. She has a BFA from Ohio State University, majored in illustration and sculpture. She worked many years for a textbook publisher but always did art in her spare time. Early on she painted in oils and acrylics, but soon became captivated by the 3-dimensional forms. Marilyn’s human and animal figures often show the lighthearted, amusing side of life, though they sometimes become more serious. She works largely in fired ceramic clays and also uses polymer clay, wood, paper Mache’ and mixed media.

Marilyn joined Ashland Art Works in 2010. She passed away on Aug 21, 2015. All of us at AAW will miss Marilyn’s spiritedness and cheery personality.

The entire purchase price of Marilyn’s art works will be given to her family to help with medical expenses.
