The Art of Midge Black

Lithia Creek

My work celebrates  the spiritual renewal that comes to us in the great outdoors. Paintings drawings and prints are made both on the scene and in the studio.

I work in watercolor and acrylic paints.  My prints are pulled on a Whelan press in waterbased inks.

My color palette is a happy one and my medium is acrylic. I’ve been an artist since a child but have painted for only 3 1/2 years!  When I had a flower shop in Newport Beach, California, customers often said ‘I painted with flowers.’  Now I paint flowers especially roses, my favorite!  I’ve been a decorator, tearoom owner and party stylist and these loves are often reflected in my art.  My greatest treasures are my 2 daughters who often accidentally walk out of my heart and onto my canvases.  Please visit me upstairs in Studio #2.

clarey-3Featured Clay Artist:  Sheri Clarey

I first started working in oils when I was very young.  My grandmother studied at the Chicago Art Institute and she instilled in me an appreciation of fine art.  I always wanted to create and sell beautiful and inspired things; paintings, ceramics, jewelry and stained glass.  I dabbled in some and became totally immersed in others.  I am influenced by history, color, music and my cats.  I am constantly photographing things that move me and transfiguring them with clay and glazes.  I can be visited downstairs in Studio 8B or 9B.
